Copa Kitley GWA Wingfoil World Cup Brazil | Day Four Highlights

20th November 2022

After an epic final of the Surf-Freestyle events which saw the French Flora Artzner and Malo Guénolé win the victory of the event, but also the world title for the latter alongside Paula Novotna, place in Surf-Slalom for the 4th day of the GWA Wingfoil World Tour Taiba!

For women as for men, everything can still be played for the world title. If Titouan Galea is at the top of the world rankings, Francesco Capuzzo, Camille Bouyer and Mathis Ghio still have a chance to dethrone him. Same pattern on the women’s side, where Flora Artzner has kept the lead all season, but where Nia Suardiaz and Paula Novotna still have a chance of winning the title. (Discover the full scenarios in one of our latest articles)

It was on a somewhat unusual slalom course, with a large tactical upwind and a pumping zone in the waves, that the 41 Men and 14 Women competed over several races all day long on Day 4. The men smashed through two full elimination battles, each consisting of four heats, two semi-finals and then a final. Finish in the top five in each heat and riders would advance on their way to the final. Titouan Galea was unbeatable : outwitting his competitors on the upwind legs, he then glided easily through the course to win both finals. On the women’s side, Nia Suardiaz was in rocket mode, winning 6 races… out of 6! Flora Artzner is in third at the event after six races, behind Novotna and Suardiaz. If she keeps this ranking, she should be crowned Surf-Slalom World Champion today! Find all the results on the GWA website.

The action continues today with the Surf-Slalom finals! Watch live, and discover the possible scenarios of who will be the future world champions of the discipline!
