GWA Youth Wingfoil World Cup 2022 : our young champions crowned !

Last weekend was the GWA Youth Wingfoil World Cup 2022 in Saint-Pierre-la-Mer in France, where all the best wingfoil groms of the planet gathered. In different age categories, over 70 youngsters competed in the two disciplines of Surf-Slalom and Surf-Freestyle, in changing and erratic wind conditions over the three days.

In Slalom, around 20 races were run on Friday in a solid Tramontane, before giving way to the Freestyle heats, which continued over the weekend in lighter winds. Nia Suardiaz was the only woman entered in this competition, (but she rocked everything in Surf-Slalom as usual!) and she was crowned of the Youth Freestyle & Slalom World Champion title. Congrats!

On the boys’ side, the battle was tough to climb on the podium, both in Slalom and Freestyle, with impressive speeds and incredible tricks for these young riders. It is in the end competitors from France, USA, Spain and Greece who share the medals. Congrats to all! Here are the results:

We can notice that the F-One Next Generation team is well represented on the podiums! This GWA Youth Wingfoil World Cup 2022 was also the last stage of the youth circuit (the first one was in Oliva, Spain, last June), and crowned Youth World Champions in Slalom and Freestyle!
