The all new Le Doigt Wing/Downwind Foilboards are a new concept that combines downwind SUP foiling and wingfoiling technologies into one. The designer, Steeve Fleury aka “Le Doigt” wanted a board with which he could not only paddle up on flat water, but also take out on the lake in light wind with a wing. Shaped by Andi Widmann, the Le Doigt features a more compact shape compared to purebred downwind board. This makes it more playful as this reduces the swing weight, and this in turn allows for harder carves and a more balanced feel when wingfoiling.
The recessed deck moves the volume out to the rails and allows the rider to stand deeper in the board which helps to give more stability and a more connected feel to the foil. As it is also a wingfoil board, it can be ridden with straps as it has inserts for the standard V-Strap configuration and also a carry handle in the hull. Available in three sizes, 6’0, 6’4 and 6’10, you can choose the board best suited to your size, your level and the conditions of your spot. A few weeks ago, we had the chance to interview Steeve Fleury, who told us everything we needed to know about this board.
The Indiana’s SUP Foil Carbon boards are crafted to excel in flatwater paddle-up, downwind paddling, and lightwind wave conditions. The designer Gunnar Biniasch took elements from his surf, wind and kite-foil board designs and combined them with elements from SUP racing-boards to come up with a unique bottom shape specific to the sport of downwind SUP foiling.
The concave rails tapering to the tail essentially give you two boards in one. With the thin keel in the tail you have an early glide and easy release from the water. The wider deck-section above the keel give you stability when just paddling slowly to get out to the bumps. The bottom shape is round under your front foot which unsticks the board from the water instantly and allows for quick acceleration from your paddle strokes. The narrow outline and low width allow the board to cut through the water with ease, allowing for effortless acceleration.
The embossed croc-skin deckpads offer amazing grip without burning your skin when pulling your knees or feet along the deck when popping up or paddling. Additionally, the concave deck design offers ample space for a secure stance on the board. These boards are available from 6’2 to 8’8, offering you a wide choice of sizes to suit your weight, your level, your style and the conditions on your spot.
New for 2024, Indiana’s Wave Foil board series, designed by Gunnar âChinatownâ Biniasch, represents the pinnacle of modern design for wave riders, whether using a wing or prone paddling. These boards are crafted to deliver the best performances across various wave conditions. Key features include the Release Rocker 2.0, which enhances acceleration and allows the board to release from the water effortlessly.
The deep concave deck provides maximum control by securely locking in the front foot, while the innovative concave rails offer dual functionality: increased stability when displacing and efficient release during pumping. The round bottom hull accelerates the board in displacement mode and cushions landings and touches, making it easier on the knees. Additionally, the HSH (Hard-Soft-Hard) rail progression ensures efficient water entry and smooth channeling under the board.
All Indiana Wave Foil boards come fully equipped with a bag, footstraps, and screws, making them ready for immediate use. This series is ideal for riders seeking superior performance on the waves. Available in sizes from 3’7 to 4’10, the Wave Foil are small boards more suited to advanced riders, but you can choose the size that best fit your weight and riding style.
Indiana’s new Flatwater/Allround Wingfoil Board range, shaped by Andi Widmann, is suitable for all skill levels, and for varying conditions from flat water to small waves. They feature a compact outline for minimal swing weight and maximum stability, and a fast rocker line for minimal resistance and easy takeoff. Sharp rails in the tail optimize water release, while tapered rails towards the nose ensure neutral touchdown.
The concave V in the bow enhances directional stability during takeoff, and the recessed deck offers a lower stance and direct foil feedback. The front foot is positioned deeper for a neutral stance relative to the fuselage. Larger sizes provide more stability and easier takeoff, while smaller sizes reduce catching during maneuvers. Available in sizes from 70L to 135L, these are the ideal Indiana boards for beginners and improving or heavier riders.
New for 2024, the Wingfoil Freewave/Allround Board come from the designer Gunnar Biniasch. As the big sisters to the Wave Foil boards, it is available in sizes ranging from 50L to 85L. This range is designed for all-round wingfoil, in freeride or freewave mode. It’s perfectly suited to intermediate to expert riders looking for an easy, all-purpose board. It may also be suitable for lighter beginner riders.
Gunnar spent a long time testing and refining the new concepts on this board to ensure everything works in harmony. The release rocker 2.0 increases the tail rocker to maximize acceleration and allow the board to release from the water effortlessly. The deep concave deck locks in your front foot for maximum control, with a gradient that prevents water pooling by channeling it to the back.
The new concave rails concept provides increased roll stability when displacing and efficient release during pumping. The round bottom hull accelerates the board in displacement mode and cushions landings, while the HSH (Hard-Soft-Hard) rail progression enhances water entry and smooth channeling under the board.
The G-Pro boards are the signatures series of Indiana’s shaper Gunnar Biniasch. These two board shapes have been tested and refined worldwide in various conditions. Constructed with Full Carbon Sandwich and featuring Crocodile Skin Pads, they come complete with a board bag, footstraps, and screws.
The 74L is Gunnarâs lightwind board of choices, designed to perform in the lightest breezes, crucial for racing in light wind with small foils. It’s also ideal for heavier riders (Gunnar is 88 kg) seeking an agile and fun light wind board. The 74L, with its compact shape of 4â9â long and 22.5â wide, features a sharp release tail and clean bottom shape for easy acceleration and popping up on the foil. The volume is evenly distributed with a slight bias towards the front, ensuring stability in displacement mode. To keep it light and simple, Gunnar opted for a smaller low drag handle and no nose handle. The 32cm tracks are compatible with popular race foils and most other brands.
The 63L board is a different shape, designed as Gunnar’s ultimate performance board. Combining the advantages of a short 4â4â board with enough volume for easy takeoff, it has a thick center and low-volume progressive concave rails for hard carving without tail touch. The teardrop outline maintains volume under the front foot, facilitating water starts and making it easy to paddle and pop up on waves for surffoiling. Moreover, this compact shape also excels in surf foiling and pumping. Like the 74L, the 63L has a smaller low drag handle and no nose handle to minimize weight.
Indiana also has a range of inflatable foilboards on sale, ideal for travelling or starting out at a low price and with no risk of damages. The Swiss brand has also developed a range of boards specifically for foil pumping, which you can check out on their website!
