The SIC Maui Foil Team continues to push the boundaries of foiling in 2025, bringing together a talented group of athletes who showcase performance and passion for the sport. With a mix of experienced competitors and rising stars, this team embodies the essence of SIC Maui’s commitment to high-end foil gear. While the core roster remains unchanged from last season, there are a few key updates, including Anaé Rio’s promotion to the International Junior Foil Team. Let’s take a closer look at the riders who will be representing SIC Maui on the international stage this year.

Rasmus “Raz” Sayre

Hailing from Martha’s Vineyard, USA, Rasmus Sayre is an accomplished waterman with a deep-rooted background in windsurfing, kite foiling, and sailing. Growing up in a family of windsurfing champions, Raz naturally gravitated toward competitive watersports and has earned multiple national and international titles (Windsurfing Kona Class World Champion, a three-time T293 Youth National Windsurfing Champion).

As an early adopter of wingfoiling, Raz competed in major wingfoil racing events, including the Defi Wing and several stops on the Wingfoil Racing World Tour, consistently delivering strong performances. Off the racecourse, he is passionate about downwind SUP foiling, wave riding, and environmental advocacy, using his platform to promote ocean conservation.

Terrence Clapper

Based in Bonaire, Terrence Clapper is a versatile rider, instructor, and all-around waterman. His journey into watersports began with fishing and swimming before he found his passion in windsurfing, eventually becoming a professional slalom competitor. After discovering wingfoiling in 2021, Terrence embraced the sport with enthusiasm, blending his background in wind-powered disciplines with a keen focus on speed, agility, and racing.

As a dedicated coach and mentor, Terrence spends much of his time sharing his knowledge with the next generation of foilers, helping them refine their technique and confidence on the water. His ability to transition seamlessly between disciplines makes him a valuable member of the SIC Maui team.

Ludovic “Ludo” Teulade

A Paris native turned ocean athlete, Ludovic Teulade has built an impressive career across multiple paddle sports. Initially gaining recognition as a two-time French SUP champion, Ludo’s natural talent for gliding sports led him to embrace foiling. His passion for open-water racing and downwind foiling has positioned him as a key figure in SIC Maui’s foil development program.

In 2024, Ludo played a pivotal role in the evolution of SIC Maui’s Kunalu, the brand’s latest downwind foilboard, testing prototypes and refining performance parameters. Whether competing, coaching, or exploring new foil lines, Ludo continues to inspire with his smooth style and deep understanding of board dynamics.

Livio Menelau

Brazilian-born Livio Menelau is a true waterman with expertise spanning SUP racing, big-wave surfing, and now wingfoiling. Having spent nearly two decades in Hawaii, Livio has honed his skills in some of the world’s most challenging conditions, mastering the art of downwind foiling.

2024 was a standout year for Livio, as he claimed the Triple Crown in the 40-49 age category and secured a 7th overall finish at the prestigious Molokai 2 Oahu paddleboard race. His deep knowledge of ocean energy and ability to harness swell makes him a key asset in SIC Maui’s innovation and product testing, particularly in refining high-performance downwind foiling setups.

Anaé Rio (Junior Foil Team)

One of the most exciting young talents in the wingfoil scene, Anaé Rio has earned a well-deserved promotion to the Junior Foil Team for 2025. A fierce competitor on the French and international circuits, Anaé has showcased exceptional skill and determination, standing out in both freestyle and racing disciplines.

Over the past season, she has competed in major events such as the GWA Wingfoil World Tour, the Defi Wing, and various national championships, continually improving her technique and strategy. Her rapid rise in the sport signals a bright future, and she is sure to make waves as she takes on bigger challenges this year.
