Indiana Flow FW 75L: Rider Review with Mirko Schadegg

For Swiss rider Mirko Schadegg, wingfoiling is the natural continuation of a lifelong passion for water sports. From windsurfing and wave surfing to wakeboarding and now wingfoiling, he’s always chasing new sensations on the water. We caught up with him to hear about his experience with the Indiana Flow FW 75L, a board he’s been riding on Swiss lakes, often paired with the Indiana Marlin foil. Here’s what he had to say about its performance, design, and why it’s become his go-to setup.

Hi Mirko! Tell us everything : how did you first get into wingfoiling, and what keeps you motivated on the water today?

As a small child windsurfer first hour, from windsurfing to wave-surfing to the Swiss championship title … till wakeboarding, I have now landed in wingfoiling. After I have already experienced everything, wingfoil now conveys new feelings on the water. And the fast learning process inspires.

You’ve been riding the new Indiana Flow FW 75L. What was your very first impression when you got on it?

On the first ride on the latest Indiana Flow F 75 l I was surprised by the sporty 75 l. with little wind you need a sporty skillful pumping. When you fly, it drives incredibly round. I ride it together with the Marlin M and S. foils, and that really fits together incredibly well and smoothly. The board is shaped in such a way that it does not trigger any jerky movements, but everything is very controlled. The soft deck feels great when you ride barefoot.

You seems to mainly ride on Swiss lakes. How does the board perform for you in those conditions?

Yes, my home spots are the swiss lakes and the board works very well with my weight of 85 kg on the lakes. I only have this board for wingfoiling, my biggest wing is 6 m² if this is not enough, I prefer to go pump foils before I stand on a larger board.

The Flow FW is designed for both freestyle and waves, but on the lake you’re mostly going for jumps. How does it support your style of riding?

I am surprised by the safe landings that I can stand with this board, it somehow has enough volume in the heck so that it glides again. The lightness of the board can also be felt in the air.

You often pair the Flow FW with the Indiana Marlin foil. What do you like about this combination?

Hey, that was the biggest surprise, the two parts harmonize so well together and it comes out of feels one piece, it feels really very soft and round.

The board shape has a narrower tail and a rather pronounced drop deck. How do those design details translate into your sessions?

It is very casual to carve, the narrow rear rarely hangs in the turns. What surprises me is that the board sometimes really wants to go diving when pumping out. To start gliding, you have to push your nose up very much. Once immersed, it pulls down properly.

What’s your favorite move or moment so far on the Flow FW, where you felt the board really made the difference?

Hard to say, the jumps are somehow easier and higher with the light board as well as the tight turns and carvings seem to work better with me with this board. The only disadvantage is the foot straps, which can reduce or enlarge only with screws.

If you had to sum up the Flow FW 75L in just a few words for another rider considering it, what would you say?

It is a great board for advanced riders, the 75L are very sporty, compared to other shapes. Maybe better to add a few liters when buying.

Thank you for your feedback !
